John Adams:
The Second President
John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, in Braintree, MA (Present-day Quincy).
His parents were John Adams and Susanna Boylston. He had two siblings named Peter and Elihu. In 1764, he married Abigail Adams. Together, they had six children: John Quincy Adams, Charles Adams, Abigail Adams Smith, Thomas Boylston Adams, Susanna Adams, and Elizabeth Adams. His presidential term lasted from March 4, 1797 until March 4, 1801. He was the first president to ever reside in the White House. (But he's the second president? What about Washington?) Washington never resided in Washington D.C., as it says on ( George Washington ). This makes Adams the first president to live there.

More Facts
When he was younger, he graduated from Harvard College in 1755. After this, he taught school for many years and then studied law with an attorney. He began his law career in 1758.
Adams luckily lived long enough to see his son, John Quincy Adams, become the sixth president of the United States. However, John Adams only lived to see two of his son's presidential years.

An odd fact about Adams involves Thomas Jefferson. By the time Adam's son had become president, he and Jefferson were the only few remaining signers of the Declaration of Independence. On July 4, 1826, John Adams, at the age of 90, passed away. His last words, "Thomas Jefferson still survives.", wasn't exactly correct. Not only did Adams die that evening, but Jefferson had passed away that morning.
